Inside UTM MCT: Member Testimonials

Sara Al-Haboubi

Competitive Team Member

From a young age, I was often told I would make a great lawyer because of my interest in debate and conversation. Through mooting, I have developed strong skills in legal research, critical analysis, and oral argument that have reaffirmed my desire to pursue law. I have also grown and learned how to be more confident in my public speaking skills. Beyond writing submissions, some of the most meaningful moments have come from long hours in MN and bonding with my team between rounds.

Kashni Kaur Sandhu

Executive Team Member &  Competitive Team Member

Joining UTM MCT has allowed me to explore my interest in law while connecting with others in a way I didn’t expect, especially as a first-year student. The team is incredibly supportive and welcoming, which made the experience even more meaningful. Working as an Events Associate alongside such dedicated individuals has been especially rewarding. I cannot wait to watch the MCT grow and evolve during my time at UTM.

Stephanie Beti

Executive Team Member & Competitive Team Member

As a health science focused student, joining UTM MCT has shown me a love for law. It has pushed me to develop a new way of thinking and I love the creative aspect that comes with each case. As a member of the executive team and being able to teach new students the art of mooting, I have learned so much and grown as both a competitor and a leader. The positive environment of the club has made me feel comfortable to try something new.
