Founder's Address
Established in 2025, University of Toronto, Mississauga Moot Court Team was founded to provide UTM students with an unparalleled and unprecedented opportunity to compete in mooting competitions and refine their oral advocacy skills.
Unlike U of T’s St. George and Scarborough campuses, which already have mooting teams, UTM lacked a dedicated space for students to engage in this intellectually rigorous activity. As pre-law students with experience in mock trials, we sought a more challenging and practical environment—one that mooting uniquely provides.
Through professional mentorship, immersive training, and high-caliber competitions, UTM MCT will equip students with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to excel in legal advocacy. The formation of UTM MCT marks a new era for legal education at UTM and strengthens U of T’s tri-campus mooting community. We are creating a legacy that will shape the future of legal advocacy at UTM for years to come!

We aim to cultivate an environment where every argument is met simultaneously with constructive criticism and encouragement, every challenge is seen as an opportunity and every moot round brings you closer to reaching your highest potential as an oral advocate.
As students tackle complex supreme court cases, they do so alongside a network of like-minded mooters, law students, lawyers, supreme court justices, and other legal advocates, creating lifelong relationships that will extend beyond the courtroom.
PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE & EXPOSURE TO LAW:
At UTM MCT, students will have the opportunity to compete in moot court competitions at various levels—provincial, national, and international.
